No matter what event you are planning to have, the basics remain the same in order to make any event a success. And unless there is basic planning, any event will turn into a mess.
So in case you are planning a birthday party, you need to plan the theme first. The theme has to be based entirely on the age and taste of the person whose birthday is being celebrated. So no point having a love theme for a 2 year old toddler. In fact, you can even ask the birthday person what theme he or she would prefer. Your 5 year old princess may be wishing for a fairy tale theme with tiaras and beautiful dresses and will not be very happy with a jungle theme that you organize for her.
Next you need to decide on the number of guests. This is entirely dependent on the space that you have. In case the number of guests is too large, you may opt for two parties instead of one. Do ensure that the guests are able to gel together. It will be uncomfortable if close family members are called along with stiff office colleagues. The event will not be a success that way. If the space is too big and the guests too few, they may feel lost. And if the space is too less, the guests will feel stuffy.
Next step is to prepare invitation cards. These can be bought ready made from the market. Another option is to make them yourself in order to add a personalized touch. Do mention the theme of the event. In case it is a fairy tale theme, you may add the image of tiaras on these cards. The cards need to be made with care. These must have all vital details like the location of the party, the date as well as the timings.
Now is the time for getting the party supplies. Do ensure that everything is matching with the theme. For a birthday party of a child, there have to be balloons and streamers. These need to match with the theme of the party. The party location needs to be decorated. Do ensure that you leave enough space for people to move around. And if there are kids in the party, you need to leave space for them to run around. Do ensure that there are no objects lying around that can break or anything that can hurt the kids. Party venue decoration requires time. Do it as early as possible. Also, use your creativity here. After all, people will always remember this decoration that you have done.
Decide on the menu. This has to be in accordance with your budget as well as the time of day. A party at lunch time will not hit off with light snacks. People would always expect food according to the time of day. Try to match the food along with the theme. Do all your preparations in advance so that you are able to enjoy the event with your guests.
